Securing your organisation’s data, information and IT infrastructure is not just a necessity, but a strategic advantage.
Most businesses know they should be doing more to protect themselves, but when it comes to managing security, the expertise and solutions are very different from that of IT.
In 2020, we founded a dedicated security and risk consultancy division, Nimbus Red, enabling us to consult on bespoke projects that focus on giving visibility of likely security exposure across a company’s assets.
Working closely with you, our team of Cybersecurity and Risk Consultants at Nimbus Red will provide tailored solutions designed to help you reduce operational, financial, and reputational risks for your business.
In addition to consulting on bespoke projects, we can also help you to improve your security through two key areas:
Cybersecurity is often thought of as ‘keeping out the bad guys’, but when it comes to your data, it’s so much more than that. Threats to your data can come from inside, as well as outside of your organisation, and with the exponential growth in mobile device and data roaming, it’s getting increasingly difficult to control and keep track of where your information is going.
Working with businesses of all sizes, our consultancy services are designed to help you mature your security posture, reducing business risks. With access to our expertise and seamless solutions, we’ll help you to reduce the potential of cyber attacks and data breaches.
Our Cybersecurity and Risk Consultants are highly skilled IT professionals who apply their extensive experience, expertise, and innovative thinking to promptly assess, manage, and solve complex security problems.
There’s no one-size-fits-all assessment to help businesses with their cybersecurity. Choosing the appropriate assessment depends on what your current priorities are and where you are in your cybersecurity journey. If you’re unsure what is right for you, our team can guide you.
The following are our most popular assessments.
Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification
Cyber attacks and data breaches are an ever-growing threat to organisations. Businesses are increasingly feeling the pressure from clients, stakeholders, and the government to show that they are secure and reliable.
If you want to give your customers assurance that you’re managing their data responsibly, a Cyber Essentials certification is the UK standard to protect your small business against the most common threats.
Cyber attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature, carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They are the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked.
You know cybersecurity is a priority, but just where do you start?
Cyber Essentials is designed to prevent cyber attacks by protecting your business from common cyber threats. This UK government-backed cybersecurity certification is the perfect starting point for any business looking to improve its security.
In a nutshell, it’s a list of requirements that your organisation must meet. There are two approaches to this certification – Cyber Essentials (basic) and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Cyber Essentials (basic) is a self-assessment, so you can do it yourself for £300. However, it can be laborious and confusing for those without experience.
Cyber Essentials (basic) and Cyber Essentials Plus are based off the same list of requirements and, therefore, are the same standard. The difference with Cyber Essentials Plus is that it involves a hands-on external audit and vulnerability scan to verify that your business meets the requirements of the certification.
