Engineering Trust with Cyber Essentials Plus

About the client

TEXO is a construction engineering company that provides a wide range of services through its team of highly experienced engineers, surveyors, fabricators, and constructors. With headquarters in Aberdeen, TEXO works across multiple commercial sectors with strong roots in the energy sector. This led to expansion into marine, airport facilities, subsea operations, and heavy industrial sectors.

Client objectives

With a continued focus on cybersecurity in their active industries, TEXO Group recognised the value and importance of obtaining the IASME (Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises) Cyber Essentials certification to exceed their current cybersecurity requirements and to increase their competitive position when tendering for new contracts.

To help meet tendering criteria and successfully complete this certification, the organisation was seeking to work with an external trusted partner to assist with the completion of the Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

Services provided

Working closely with TEXO and their external IT provider, Nimbus Blue helped the organisation achieve the Cyber Essentials Plus certification. The successful completion of this included:

  • Assistance with completing the Cyber Essentials self-assessment and liaising with the certification body.
  • Working closely with their IT provider to carry out an internal vulnerability scan and providing assistance with remediation.
  • Support through the audited Cyber Essentials Plus assessment to ensure successful completion.

Outcome & results

Upon completion of the work with TEXO, the organisation was awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus certification. In achieving this certification, TEXO demonstrated their continued commitment to investing in effective cybersecurity to increase cyber awareness and best practices across their organisation.

Completing the certification has also enabled TEXO to increase their competitive position when tendering for new contracts.
